JustOne's Mission: Ending poverty through ethical fashion because everyone has value.

“Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life.” Nelson Mandela

Ending Poverty:

At JustOne, we want to see the end of poverty - beginning in the lives of our artisan partners.

Poverty is the lack of resources to secure basic human needs such as food, shelter, healthcare, education, and employment. When this persists for two generations or more – it is defined as generational poverty. Or a poverty cycle. And cycles are hard to break – but not impossible.

To break the poverty cycle, individuals and families need opportunity. Opportunities to dignified, fair work. Opportunities for changing their own story, and the stories of generations to follow.

“Poverty is relatively cheap to address and incredibly expensive to ignore.” Clint Borgen

Ethical fashion:

At JustOne, we aim to end poverty through ethical fashion.

Ethical fashion aims to be kind to people and the planet. At JustOne, we have partnered with artisans in Kenya and Uganda to provide a global marketplace for their creations. Through this job creation, artisans are provided opportunities to safely and fairly break the cycle of poverty.

We strive to follow fair trade practices making sure that people are safe and healthy in their work environment, paid fairly and treated with dignity. We aim to care for our planet and be good stewards – some ways we do this is by mainly using recycled and repurposed materials, and providing eco friendly packaging.

“Demand quality, not just in the products you buy, but in the life of the person who made it.”  Orsola de Castro

Everyone has value:

At JustOne we work to end poverty through ethical fashion because everyone has value.

Everyone has value – but not everyone has been given the same opportunity. And that just isn’t fair – and this is our main motivation.  We want to see artisans, their families and communities thrive.

“Our differences do matter, but our common humanity matters more.” Bill Clinton

Because we believe everyone has value – we always want to be agents of love and kindness to each person JustOne encounters. From the artisans in Kenya and Uganda, to our customers and staff… and everyone in between!

“See the light in others, and treat them as if that is all you see.” Wayne W. Dyer
