"Me cako" means "to start" in Acholi - the language spoken in the communities we partner with in Northern Uganda. A reminder that sometimes we simply have to start if we want to make a change - one action at a time. Like purchasing baskets that support artisans like Bosco - a skilled artisan, former child soldier and father of five. Through his creations, he is able to provide for his family through fair, dignified work.
These beautiful handcrafted baskets are made of natural fibers and grass in Uganda. These fun pompom baskets are a great addition to any decor! They are 8" wide x 4" tall (without pompom).
Our world changing fashion is all individually handcrafted, and therefore small imperfections, differences in shape, size and colour can happen and are part of the charm of a handmade product - reminding us an actual person made this item just for you.
